The mimosa ID

Your papers please !!!
The mimosa is a member of the acacia family and flowers from January to March. Did you know that there are more than 1200 different species?
In France, its usual height is 10 meters, which is still the equivalent of 2 giraffes! In Australia, its country of origin, some are even almost 30 meters long. Guaranteed stiff necks if you admire them!
On the famous “Côte d’Azur”, it was some rich English men, based in Cannes, who introduce the mimosa. From 1880, the “Côte d’Azur” became one of the world’s largest producers. The city of Grasse has experienced significant growth with the exploitation of mimosa, used for its essences. We call the “Mimosa Route” the 130 km which connect Bormes-les-Mimosas to Grasse, a tourist route to be taken between January and March to admire the flowering of mimosas which highlight the dazzling blue of the Mediterranean.

Did you know that ?

The mimosa flower symbolizes magnificence, elegance, simplicity, tenderness and friendship.
It also represents feminine energy, hidden beneath an apparent fragility. For this reason, since 1946, the mimosa has been the emblem of Women’s Day, which takes place on March the 8.
In your dreams, the mimosa is a sign of security. So, as magical as the key to dreams at the Fantassia amusement park, mimosa could keep your children’s nightmares away…
